Overview – MSA Course
MSA (Measurement Systems Analysis) Course is the method used to ensure that all characteristics, especially customer special requests, are accurately measured in every new product commissioning and mass production within the framework of the IATF 16949 Quality Management System.
The contribution of the measurement variation to the total process variation at an acceptable level indicates the reliability of the system, otherwise the measurement system must be improved. It is not possible for us to manage a process that we cannot measure correctly. In the MSA Course, the variables of the measurement system are analyzed on a categorical basis, and the practices are carried out with real measurement tools in a way to reveal the statistical contribution of each category to the total variability as well as the adequacy of the system.
What Does the Measurement System Include?
- Measurement devices,
- Measurement environment,
- Measurement procedures
- Auxiliary tools for measurement.
It is the variability that occurs when the same characteristic of the same part is measured by an operator multiple times using a measurement tool.
It is the variation in the average of the measurements made using the same measurement tool by several different operators of the same characteristic on the same part.
It is the total variability in measurements of a characteristic of the same principal parts over a long period of time obtained through a measuring system (test/device).
The goal of the MSA Course is to enable the participants to reach the status of analyzing the MSA steps such as Repeatability, Reproducibility (Gage R&R), Stability and Linearity in the measurement systems within their processes. Trainings are carried out on the program to be used by the company.
